Panic channel opening for Supernova
The Panic Channel, which features three former members of Jane's Addiction, will open for Supernova on its debut North American tour, according to Blabbermouth.net. Supernova, the band comprised of Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke, is searching for a singer on the second season of the CBS reality series Rock Star. The group will choose its vocalist on next Wednesday's (September 13th) episode, with a debut album to follow on November 21st. Panic Channel guitarist Dave Navarro is also a co-host of Rock Star.
Supernova will perform live for the first time on December 31st at the Joint in Las Vegas, with its tour beginning on January 16th in Hollywood, Florida.
The Panic Channel's debut disc, (ONe), has sold 13,000 copies since being released on August 15th. The band also features ex-Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Chris Chaney, along with former MTV VJ Steve Isaacs on vocals.
