Rolling Stones animated feature taking shape
A new animated feature including a dozen Rolling Stones songs will begin production later this year. Billboard reported that the film, titled Ruby Tuesday after the group's 1967 hit, is being co-produced by Mick Jagger's Jagged films with the story being described as, "a Faustian tale of a single mother searching for happiness in New York."
The film is being written and directed by Paul and Gaetan Brizzi, best known for their work on the animated feature Asterix vs. Caesar and the "Firebird Suite" portion of Disney's Fantasia 2000.
The other 11 songs to be featured in the film have yet to be announced.
Ruby Tuesday is the first non-documentary, band-based film project the Stones have taken part in since contributing to director Jean-Luc Godard's 1968 counterculture feature One Plus One.
The Rolling Stones will launch the latest North American leg of their A Bigger Bang tour on September 20th in Foxboro, Massachusetts at the Gillette Stadium.
