Santana-backed clinic opens in Mexico

A health clinic backed by Carlos and Deborah Santana has been unveiled in his hometown. Carlos was in Autlan, Mexico, earlier this month for the first public viewing of the non-profit Sanctuary Of Light clinic and community center, which he funded as a way to give back to the place where he was born and to the people who live there now, many of whom can't afford proper medical treatment. The initial money for the project came from a benefit concert last year in Guadalajara, Mexico, and the center, which will also have a library and computer and meeting rooms, will be fully operational by the end of the year.

The Santana band will play in Wallingford, Connecticut, on Friday (September 22nd). The tour wraps up next Saturday (September 30th) in Atlanta, and the word is that they're planning to take all of next year off.
