Seether frontman dives into writing next record

Seether frontman Shaun Morgan recently started working on new music for the band's follow-up to its 2005 album, Karma And Effect. The singer and guitarist finished a self-imposed stint in rehab last month and told us how the experience has affected his songwriting: "The songwriting's going really well. You know, I came out of rehab and basically sat down and haven't stopped writing since then. And it's not like it's all, 'I'm so sober now.' Really it isn't. Actually, I guess the songs will be more focused on dealing with sort of personal issues than before, because I kind of skirted them and just barely touched on them before. So it's interesting now that the songs are a lot more introspective than they ever were before."

Morgan pulled Seether off the road in late July and promptly checked himself into rehab for a month to rid himself of addictions to alcohol and drugs.

Seether begins a U.K. tour this Sunday (October 1st) and will play some scattered U.S. dates this fall, but Morgan told us that he hopes to begin recording the band's third album by November.

Seether's latest release, an live acoustic CD/DVD package called One Cold Night, came out this past summer.

The singer and guitarist is also engaged and will become a father for the second time in November. He has a young daughter from a previous marriage.
