Single "personifies" new My Chemical Romance album, says singer
My Chemical Romance began invading the airwaves last week with "Welcome to the Black Parade," the first single from the band's upcoming third album, The Black Parade. Singer Gerard Way says this record is a big leap forward for the band and feels that "The Black Parade" is a great representation of that: "It personifies the whole record. It's basically the one song that sums up the sound for the record and all the risks we took jammed into one kind of mini-epic. And it still retains everything that made us special, I feel."
The Black Parade, which follows up 2004's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, is due out on October 24th.
My Chemical Romance was forced to cancel two shows earlier this month when drummer Bob Bryar was briefly hospitalized for complications from an injury he suffered during an August video shoot.
The New Jersey-based band has yet to announce tour plans in support of The Black Parade.
