The Who win Freddie Mercury prize
The Who will receive the first ever Freddie Mercury Lifetime Achievement In Live Music Award on October 11th in London, as part of the Vodaphone Live Music Awards. Pink Floyd and U2 are up for two of the competitive awards, which will honor the best in live music from the past year, as well as concert venues and festivals. It's doubtful that Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will be on hand to pick up the trophy, since they're booked to play in Seattle that night.
The next stop for the Who is on Thursday, September 21st, in Holmdel, New Jersey.
