Wolfmother scraps shows as bassist becomes dad

Wolfmother has scrapped the last few dates of its current tour due to the premature arrival of a baby boy for bassist Chris Ross. According to the band's official website, Ross received the news that his girlfriend was about to give birth on Sunday (September 24th) and immediately left the tour to begin a 23-hour journey home to Sydney, Australia. The child, who arrived reportedly a month ahead of schedule, came into the world while Ross was still in the air.

As a result, Wolfmother was forced to postpone performances in Chicago on Tuesday, September 26th, Los Angeles on Thursday (September 28th), San Diego on Friday (September 29th) and San Francisco's Download Festival on Saturday (September 30th). The Los Angeles show has already been rescheduled for December 12th, and tickets for the original date will be honored.

Wolfmother will take an already-planned break in October. The group expects to make up the other postponed dates on its next U.S. tour, which is slated to begin on November 21st in Philadelphia.

Wolf mother recently teamed up with the cast from MTV's Jackass to film the video for its latest single, "The Joker and the Thief." The song is featured in the movie Jackass Number 2, which was number one at the box office last weekend.

The trio is also up for five ARIAs, the Australian equivalent of the Grammys, and will perform at the October 29th awards ceremony.
