ZZ Top to receive Texas honour
ZZ Top will be honored by the Texas chapter of the Recording Academy on November 13th. They're getting the Recording Academy Honors, which are given to "outstanding individuals whose work embodies excellence and integrity and who have improved the environment for the creative community." Drummer Frank Beard, singer-guitarist Reverend Billy F. Gibbons, and singer-bassist Dusty Hill will attend the ceremony, and discussions are being held as to who will present them with the award, and who will perform in their honor.
Also being saluted at the event, which will be held at the Austin Convention Center Ballroom in Austin, Texas, are gospel music star Yolanda Adams, hip-hop label Swishahouse, and South By Southwest Music Festival co-founders Nick Barbaro, Louis Black, and Roland Swenson.
