Arctic Monkeys and Muse lead "Q Awards" nominations
Arctic Monkeys and Muse lead the nominations for the annual Q Awards, according to Sound Generator. Arctic Monkeys have gotten the nod for four awards, including Best Album, Best Live Act, Best Track and Best New Act, while Muse's three nominations include Best Act In The World Today along with Best Album and Best Live Act. Rounding out the list for Best Album are Keane, Snow Patrol and Kasabian, while Muse will compete for Best Act In The World against the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Coldplay, Oasis and U2.
The debut Arctic Monkeys album, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, walked away with England's prestigious Mercury Music Prize earlier this year.
Muse, big stars in the UK and a cult favorite in America, are touring in support of their recently released fourth album, Black Holes and Revelations.
The awards, sponsored by the UK's influential Q magazine, will be presented on October 30th in London.
The winners are selected by Q readers, who can vote online, via email or through text messaging.
