Blue October back on tour

Blue October kicked off its latest headlining tour on Tuesday (October 10th) in San Diego, with about 17 more dates lined up between now and November 30th, when the trek wraps up in Dallas, Texas. The Austin-based band's latest jaunt will include a performance at New Orleans' Voodoo Music Experience on October 28th, as well as a November 14th date in Idaho opening for the Rolling Stones.

Blue October vocalist Justin Furstenfeld is a recovering drug and alcohol addict and told us he has to be careful on the road, because that is where his problems started: "When the band started touring a lot is when I started using, 'cause you'd shake every hand and everybody's got something for you, you know. Everybody wants to be cool with you. But the more that I used and used and used, I found that it was just eating away at me, so the more I wanted to find the good things in life without the chemicals, the harder it was getting as I was getting older."

Blue October is touring behind its fourth studio album, Foiled, which was recently certified gold. The latest single from the CD is "Into The Ocean."

The group was formed in Houston in 1996 and recorded its debut album, The Answers, in 1998.
