Clash exhibit opens at Rock Hall
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees the Clash are being honored this weekend with the opening of an exhibition at the Cleveland institution. The display is titled Revolution Rock: The Story Of The Clash, and it includes memorabilia from throughout the band's career, stage clothes, handwritten lyrics, and instruments including the bass that Paul Simonon smashed on the cover of the London Calling album. There will was a private reception on Friday, October 20th, and the exhibition opens to the general public on Saturday, October 21st. The surviving members of the band, their families, and major collectors all contributed to Revolution Rock, and the opening will be attended by Clash singer-guitarist Mick Jones and drummer Terry Chimes, as will singer-guitarist Joe Strummer's widow Lucinda Mellor.Jones will also take part in a Hall Of Fame Series discussion tomorrow with Rock Hall Vice President Of Education And Public Programs Warren Zanes.
The Clash were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2003 by U2 guitarist the Edge and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello.
