Death Cab For Cutie hits the road one more time
Death Cab For Cutie kicked off a headlining North American tour on Thursday, October 26th in Philadelphia. This run of dates will be the Seattle group's final trek in support of its 2005 major label debut, Plans. Drummer Jason McGerr told us what will set this trip apart from the band's previous outings: "Most of the markets that we're hitting on this tour are gonna be really special because they're all, you know, these tertiary markets that we haven't hit in a number of years. Or, you know, we're not doing your common major city everywhere we go. It's gonna be some places out of the way and I think the kids are really excited to see some of these shows because not everyone comes to their town."
The six-week road trip will end on December 9th in Seattle with what's being billed as the band's biggest hometown show ever.
Death Cab For Cutie made its first-ever appearance last weekend (October 21st and 22nd) at Neil Young's annual Bridge School Benefit outside San Francisco.
Plans is Death Cab For Cutie's fifth full-length album overall but first since signing with Atlantic Records last year.
The band plans to take some time off for side projects and regroup later in 2007 to begin making its next album.
