Deep Purple bassist gets new signature instrument
Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover has been honored with a new signature instrument. The French company Vigier Guitars has introduced the Excess Roger Glover signature bass, which comes with a new on-board EQ system to help musicians achieve their desired tones -- which is fitting, since his playing inspired the sound of the Excess bass. According to the company, bassists including Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler, Asia's John Wetton, and U2's Adam Clayton all play Vigier, but Glover is the only one to have a signature bass.
Deep Purple are in the midst of a Russian tour, which they'll follow with a string of dates across France.
