Deftones post another new song online

Deftones have posted another new track, called "Beware," at the group's MySpace page. The song is the latest to be previewed from the band's upcoming fifth album, Saturday Night Wrist, which comes out on Halloween (October 31st). The new CD went through a few release dates before settling on the 31st, and guitarist Stephen Carpenter told us that some began surfacing before the record was even finished: "Once we started getting closer towards the end of everything being done, somehow a couple of different, earlier dates had been, you know, announced before we'd even had it all finished. Then I thought October 3rd we were gonna have a release, but then that got shut down. Then Halloween became the next option, and I was like, 'Make Halloween the option that stays...don't change it no more.'"

Deftones struggled to finish the new album over the last two years. The group began work on the disc with veteran producer Bob Ezrin, but that relationship did not pan out. Tensions also flared within the band when singer Chino Moreno took time off to focus on his side project, Team Sleep.

Saturday Night Wrist follows the group's self-titled 2003 album and includes the new single "Hole In The Earth."

Deftones will begin a headlining U.S. tour on October 27th in Dallas, Texas in support of the new CD.

The group will be featured on the Family Values Tour 2006 CD and DVD, which is due out on December 26th. The separately sold discs will include live tracks from Deftones, tour co-headliners Korn, Stone Sour, Flyleaf, 10 Years and all the other acts on the bill. A duet between Moreno and Korn singer Jonathan Davis is likely to appear.
