Fall Out Boy enlists friends for new album
Fall Out Boy's new album will feature guest appearances from Panic! At The Disco guitarist Ryan Ross and New Found Glory axeman Chad Gilbert, among others, according to MTV.com. Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz hinted that there will be other guest stars on the album, including "a couple of our friends" from the hip-hop world, but did not reveal who exactly is showing up. Wentz added that the band hopes to deliver the record to its label by Halloween, with plans for a January or February release and a first single out before the end of 2006.
The band hopes to have 16 songs recorded, from which it will select a dozen for the disc's final track listing.
Tentative song titles include "Hum Hallelujah," "I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None on My Fingers" and "The Carpal Tunnel of Love."
The group is working with R&B producer Babyface on a couple of tracks.
Wentz declined to go into too much detail about the musical direction of the yet-to-be-titled album, saying, "I hate hearing bands talk about their new records before I hear them. Inevitably all bands trash their old songs, which we love, and insist they have come up with an entirely new formula. Then you hear the record and it sounds basically, for all intents and purposes, exactly like the band has always sounded."
