Family Values CD & DVD set release date, track listing
The Family Values Tour 2006 will be released on CD and separately on DVD on December 26th, according to a press release. Both will feature live tracks from all the acts that appeared on this past summer's tour, including headliners Korn, Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf, 10 Years, Deadsy, Bury Your Dead, Dir En Grey, Bullets And Octane and Walls Of Jericho. Among the highlights on the CD will be a performance of U2's "Pride (In The Name Of Love)" by Flyleaf with singer Richard Patrick of Filter and Army Of Anyone.
Although it's not included on the CD or DVD, Patrick also performed Filter's "Hey Man Nice Shot" with Korn during the tour. Korn frontman Jonathan Davis told us how that collaboration came together: "Oh, we just thought of it up and they learned it in the dressing room. Richie came in and they just did it right onstage, it was just a 'wing' kind of thing. We're a band that never practices anything. Like, when we did the AOL Sessions, we had never played acoustic ever before in our life. We showed up an hour early, and we pulled that off."
Other highlights of the CD include Korn doing a mash-up of "Shoots And Ladders" and "Wicked" with Deftones singer Chino Moreno, as well as Stone Sour's Corey Taylor joining Korn for "Freak On A Leash."
The three previous Family Values tours, in 1998, '99 and 2001, have also been documented on CD and DVD.
Korn founded the Family Values tour in 1998 and headlined the first edition. The next two lineups were topped by Limp Bizkit and Stone Temple Pilots respectively, with appearances from Filter, Staind, Linkin Park and others.
