Kiss leaders set for Halloween parade
Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons will be on the streets of New York City in full face paint and stage costumes on Tuesday, October 31st, and it couldn't be more appropriate. The Kiss leaders will ride on a Kiss float in their capacity as Grand Marshals for the 33rd annual Halloween Parade that travels through Greenwich Village. Stanley told us it will be great: "It's the ultimate freak show. I mean, I have to say, it's kind of like being kings of the Mardi Gras, and it's a wild, wild event. When we were asked to be the Grand Marshals, we thought, 'Yeah, who better than us?', you know? It's a Star Wars bar, times, you know, a hundred-thousand." Following the parade, Simmons and Stanley will head uptown to the Virgin Megastore in Times Square, where they'll autograph copies of the new Kissology: Volume One 1974-1977. The DVD package contains six hours of rare and unreleased performance footage from the band's earliest days. Further volumes will be released next year.
Stanley is also out supporting his new solo album Live To Win, and his next show is on Wednesday, November 1st, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
