McCartney insider claims that Heather Mills was the abuser

While Paul McCartney is not publicly responding to allegations that he verbally and physically abused his estranged wife Heather Mills, his past and current employees are rallying around the former Beatle.

Last week McCartney's former publicist Geoff Baker said most of Mills' accusations in her divorce petition were lies, and now an unnamed aide for McCartney has come forward saying that although abuse did occur in the McCartney household, it was actually Mills who was the aggressor.

The McCartney insider told Britain's News Of The World that the couple's staff was used to Mills' violent tirades, recalling that, "It was Heather who caused all the rows by constantly nagging Paul, and they turned violent. Her face would go red with rage. I have seen her slam doors in his face, and when he followed her into a room there would be crashing, banging and smashing."

The source went on to explain that, "You could hear what was happening, and it sounded like Heather was the one doing the attacking. Chairs were smashed as well as ornaments. Then the housekeeper would have to come in and clean up afterwards. One of the cleaners said it was like a tornado had hit the living room. Vegetarian food was all over the floor, lamps were smashed, crockery, cutlery and glasses were broken."

After one alleged outburst, a broken bottle of ketchup was smashed against a dining room wall, right around the spot that McCartney sat. An antique rug was ruined due to the ketchup stains.

The source went on to say that Mills threatened McCartney last summer, shortly after they announced their separation: "After they pulled up in his Mercedes she leapt out of the car waving her hands at him and screaming, 'If you wanna get rid of me, do you know how much it is gonna cost you? Do you know how much you stand to lose? I'm absolutely gonna take you to the cleaners.'"

The McCartney aide added that Mills was greatly disliked by the couple's staff: "She was called the 'Ice Queen' behind her back. She was often rude to us. We all felt that she saw us as slaves."

According to several published reports, McCartney has no plans to make a settlement with Mills, and is eager to defend himself against all allegations in open British court.

The couple have cancelled plans for a joint third birthday party for their daughter Beatrice on October 28th. The couple, who are currently sharing custody of Beatrice, will throw their own separate parties for her.
