Meat insisted on "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" for Bat III
If you like the new duet version of "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" that Meat Loaf recorded with Marion Raven, be sure to thank him. The song was written by his long-time collaborator Jim Steinman, and it was kicked around between them for years before Celine Dion had a hit with it 10 years ago. Meat told us that he was outvoted when he wanted it on their 1993 album Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell, but he insisted it be on the new Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose: "We already had 'Anything For Love' and Jimmy didn't want to do two (duets), so he said, 'Let's save it for Bat III.' So in my mind, 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' was always on Bat III. And when I told the powers-that-be we're doing this, the jaws dropped -- 'Are you sure?' 'Yeah, I'm positive.'"
Meat Loaf and Marion Raven will perform "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" this morning (Friday, October 27th) on the Today show.
Bat Out Of Hell III comes out Tuesday (October 31st).
