My Chemical Romance schedules SNL appearance & live shows

My Chemical Romance has announced a brief flurry of activity around the upcoming release of its third album, The Black Parade. According to its official Web site, the band will perform on Saturday Night Live on October 21st. It will also play three East Coast shows at the end of the month in addition to its previously announced appearance at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans. The group has not announced its full North American tour plans yet.

The Black Parade comes out on October 24th and follows up the band's platinum 2004 release, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

My Chemical Romance will also perform at Spike TV's 2006 Scream Awards, celebrating horror, science fiction, fantasy and comic books. The event is scheduled to air on Tuesday, October 10th at 10 p.m. ET. Other musicians and actors scheduled to appear include Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Fergie, plus cast members from the horror films Saw III and Hostel and the TV series Battlestar Galactica.
