Paul McCartney - Heather Mills divorce petition details published

New details have been published from Heather Mills' divorce petition against Paul McCartney. Earlier this week, portions of Mills' testimony were leaked to the British press, describing several years worth of McCartney's alleged verbal tirades and physical abuse -- including one alleged incident in which he shoved then-pregnant Mills into a bathtub, another in which he is said to have choked her, and another in which he is alleged to have cut her with a shard of broken glass from a wine bottle he had thrown at her.

The London Times published specific excerpts from Mills' 13-page "Answer and Cross Petition," which referred to McCartney under his full name, James Paul McCartney (Petitioner) and Mills as Heather Anne Mills McCartney (Respondent).

Among the allegations in Mills' testimony:

Mills denied that she and McCartney had ceased having a physical relationship prior to their June separation.

She cited McCartney's "possessive and controlling behavior," including forcing their household staff to work on weekends.

Mills claimed that McCartney ignored a pre-marital promise of not using illegal drugs or using alcohol excessively.

While angry at Mills for not attending a post-concert party in Rome, McCartney pulled all security details away from Mills, leaving her and her sister vulnerable to the public and the attentions of 500,000 fans attending McCartney's free show.

Macca demanded that Mills prepare separate meals for their daughter Beatrice and for him and Mills -- even while she was recovering from a broken pelvic plate and was in agony.

After undergoing reconstructive surgery on her previously amputated leg, McCartney would not allow Mills to keep a bed pan near the bed, claiming that it was not "an old woman's home." McCartney forced Mills to have to crawl in agony to the bathroom, causing calluses and scrapes on her knees.

Macca refused to let Mills get out of bed in the morning before him, despite the fact that she needed the time that for "essential physiotherapy for her leg," and for "administrative tasks" prior to their staff's arrival and their toddler daughter Beatrice waking.

Mills stated that McCartney refused to back out of performing at the 2004 Super Bowl which was broadcast on the Fox network, despite the fact that London's Sunday Times Magazine, which is also owned by publisher Rupert Murdoch, published a story that included the line "the best thing that ever happened to Heather Mills McCartney was losing her leg."

After an argument during a vacation, McCartney threw Mills in a wheelchair and wheeled her outside demanding she apologize for "winding him up." Later, McCartney returned, "staggering," and Mills undressed him and bathed him. Mills phoned McCartney's psychiatrist for advice, who told her to not move him due to her post-op physical limitations. The psychiatrist recommended Mills drain the water from the bathtub and cover McCartney, who passed out and had vomited on himself.

Macca and Mills, who separated last May, have been married for four years. The couple is currently sharing custody of their almost three-year-old daughter Beatrice. McCartney has yet not directly commented on the specifics of Mill's testimony.
