Phil Lesh to meet fans as new CD&DVD released
Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh will be at home base on Tuesday, October 31st, when he does an autograph session at Amoeba Music on Haight Street in San Francisco. He'll be at the store from 2-4 p.m. PT to sign copies of Live At The Warfield, the new CD and DVD that comes out today. Lesh told us that he loves meeting fans this way, because he never gets to make a personal connection from the stage: "When I'm on a book tour, or I'm doing a lecture, or I'm signing CDs or DVDs or something like that, then I get to see 'em right up close. And you know what's wonderful? All they ever want to do is say 'thank you,' and sometimes tell me a story or show me a photograph about their life and their experience with our music and everything -- it's really quite wonderful. I eat it up. I love every minute of it."
Due to the two hour time limit, Lesh will only be signing copies of Live At The Warfield in order to accommodate all of his fans present at the store.
Live At The Warfield is taken from a pair of Phil Lesh & Friends shows back in May at the San Francisco venue.
Lesh announced last week that he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer, and that he'll have surgery in about a month or so. He expects to make a full and quick recovery.
