Rolling Stones postpone New York show
Mick Jagger's got a sore throat, so the Rolling Stones have some unplanned down time on Tuesday, October 31st. The band made this announcement: "The Rolling Stones have been forced to move their Tuesday, October 31st performance at the Beacon Theatre in New York to Wednesday, November 1st. Following doctor's advice, singer Mick Jagger has been ordered to rest his voice."The Stones played their first show at the Beacon on Sunday (October 29th), and it featured three special guests -- blues singer-guitarist Buddy Guy on the Muddy Waters song "Champagne & Reefer"; White Stripes singer-guitarist Jack White on "Loving Cup"; and pop singer Christina Aguilera, who duetted with Mick Jagger on "Live With Me." It's unknown whether these or any other special guests will be on hand tomorrow. That show was part of former President Bill Clinton's 60th birthday celebration, and he and his wife, New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, were in attendance. Jagger joked about the Senator's presumed future when he told the crowd that he could see the president -- and that she brought her husband with her.
Both concerts are being filmed by director Martin Scorsese for a Stones tour movie.
It's the second rescheduling in recent days -- the Stones had to bump last Friday's (October 27th) gig in Atlantic City, New Jersey, back to November 17th, also because of Jagger's throat ailment.
Over the summer, the band had to drop two dates in Spain after Jagger developed laryngitis and was told to rest his voice by doctors.
