Ronnie Wood wanted "Crossexion" to be his desert island collection
Because of all the music Ronnie Wood has been a part of, he could have had quite a time choosing material for his new anthology called The Essential Crossexion. The album spans more than four decades and includes his work with the Jeff Beck Group, the Faces, and the Rolling Stones, as well as his own solo albums. But Wood told us that he was able to narrow things down based on whether or not he'd like to be stranded somewhere with a particular song: "My initial reaction was, 'OK, let's try to get one cross-section' -- that's why I called it The Essential Crossexion -- 'let's try and get it down to, if I had to go on the desert island, you know, like, I would take these,' to show the people that this would be my cross-section." The Rolling Stones are on a short break from their North American fall tour. Their next show is Tuesday (October 17th) in Seattle, with opening act the Dave Matthews Band.
