Velvet Revolver singer shoots solo video
Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland shot a video in Los Angeles on October 1st for "Happy," a song from his upcoming second solo album, reports Blabbermouth.net. The vocalist filmed the clip with his solo band, which includes his business partner Douglas Grean on guitar. Photos of the shoot can be seen at MySpace.com/softdrive, the page for Grean and Weiland's independent label, Softdrive Records. Weiland also announced that his first solo effort since 1998's 12 Bar Blues will come out through Softdrive, but did not reveal a title or release date.Weiland and Grean also co-own Lavish Studios in Los Angeles.
Other acts issuing music through Softdrive in early 2007 include Los Angeles band The Actual and Nashville singer Tommy Joe Wilson.
Weiland debuted some new solo songs at a September 8th solo show in Notre Dame, Indiana. Weiland's father reportedly played football for Notre Dame University.
One new track, called "Beautiful Day," is tentatively slated to appear on the soundtrack of the upcoming movie Bug.
Velvet Revolver is working on tunes for its second album, tentatively titled Libertad, with a release planned for sometime in 2007.
