Who singer signs on for "CSI" guest spot
The Who's frontman Roger Daltrey will appear in a guest spot on CBS's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation later this season. The Hollywood Reporter said that Daltrey, currently on a three week break the Who's tour, will appear on the crime drama playing a part which the show's producers promise will be "a surprise role that will keep viewers guessing." There has been no word as to when Daltrey will film his episode, or when it will air.The Who broke new ground by allowing three of their songs to serve as the themes to the CSI franchise. The band's 1978 track "Who Are You" is used as the theme to the original CSI, with 1971's "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't Get Fooled Again" serving as the opening themes' to CSI: Miami and CSI: NY, respectively.
Daltrey has acted in numerous television shows, films and stage productions over the years -- most notably portraying Tommy Walker in the Who's 1975 film version of their rock opera Tommy. Daltrey has also appeared in movies such as Lisztomania, McVicar, and others.
