Wolfmother wins big at Australian "Grammys"
Australian trio Wolfmother won big at the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards in Sydney on Sunday night (October 29th), according to NME. The group was nominated for five awards and walked away with three, including Best Group, Best Breakthrough Album and Best Rock Album for its self-titled debut. The band also performed at the show, the Australian equivalent of the Grammy Awards, where they trashed their equipment during a version of "The Joker And The Thief."
"The Joker And The Thief" recently appeared in the movie Jackass Number 2. The band teamed with the film's cast to shoot a video for the track.
Wolfmother scrapped the last few dates of its most recent U.S. tour last month due to the premature arrival of a baby boy for bassist Chris Ross.
The group expects to make up the other postponed dates on its next U.S. trek, which is slated to begin on November 21st in Philadelphia.
