10 Years starts writing second album
10 Years has begun writing songs for its second album, the follow-up to the band's 2005 debut, The Autumn Effect. Although the Tennessee-based group recorded its first CD in Los Angeles, guitarist Matt Wantland told us they'd like to make the second closer to home: "We're gonna take probably take three months just solid to write, and we'll be dealing with, you know, those kind of decisions when we see what kind of music's coming out and we'll have time to actually sit down and talk about it. But we're hoping maybe we can somehow work out doing it at home, around Tennessee."
10 Years drummer Brian Vodinh posted a message online updating fans on the writing process, saying, "Wow...I'm pretty sure that will be one of the first words to pop into your mind after finally hearing the music that we have been working on."
Vodinh added, "This record is going to deliver every emotion we provided you before, but this time on a much heightened level...In a time of bulls*** pop rock and cheese wiz ballads, we will once again offer you the escape you have all been looking for."
10 Years finished up 18 months on the road with a slot on this past summer's Family Values tour, alongside Korn, Deftones and others.
The Autumn Effect has sold more than 350,000 copies and featured the singles "Wasteland," "Through The Iris" and "Waking Up."
