Arctic Monkeys already at work on new songs
Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner is hard at work on material for the band's second album, according to Uncut. The British musician told the magazine that despite the band having a hectic year, "I can't stop writing songs, I don't know what else I'm going to do." Turner said that fans can expect to hear some slower-paced tracks on the group's sophomore effort, adding, "I've written quite a few slower ones -- there's 13 or 14 songs, maybe a few more, in different states."
>The band has not set a date yet to return to the studio. Its next album will follow up its 2006 debut, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not, which was released to critical acclaim in the U.S. and near-hysteria in the U.K.
The CD sold more than a million copies in England and won the country's prestigious Mercury Music Prize earlier this year. Arctic Monkeys also walked away with two Q Awards last week in London for Best Album and People's Choice.
