Audioslave singer's James Bond video posted online
Audioslave singer Chris Cornell's video for the song "You Know My Name" has been posted at MTV/Overdrive. The track is the theme song for the upcoming James Bond movie, Casino Royale, and the clip intercuts footage of Cornell performing with clips from the film. Cornell told us he was initially surprised to even land the gig: "Normally with something like that, with a movie that big, they just go for a person that's, like, an international superstar at the time and it's sort of more of a convenient marketing thing. And with me, that's obviously not the case. You know, I do well here as a singer in a rock band, but not an international superstar. I'm not the next Madonna."
The video for "You Know My Name" was shot last month in Los Angeles.
Previous Bond theme song performers have included Madonna, Tina Turner, Tom Jones, Paul McCartney, Garbage and Duran Duran.
Casino Royale, introducing Daniel Craig as the sixth screen Bond, arrives in theatres on November 17th.
Audioslave released its third album, Revelations, in early September. Cornell is currently at work on a new solo effort.
