Blue October singer reinjures leg, shows postponed

Blue October frontman Justin Furstenfeld was admitted to a Grand Rapids, Michigan hospital on Monday (November 6th) after re-injuring his leg during a show on Saturday night (November 4th) in Louisville, Kentucky. According to a statement posted at the band's official web site, Furstenfeld damaged a bone and ligaments that were injured in a previous incident last spring. After several x-rays and tests, Furstenfeld was advised to return to Texas for evaluation by the doctor who repaired his leg after the initial injury.

Furstenfeld first injured his right leg on April 29th in Tampa, Florida, breaking his femur bone and tearing a ligament while running the bases at a local minor league ballpark. The singer recently told us that he knew he was in trouble as soon as the accident happened: "Soon as I slid and it goes pop (popping noises) and I was, like, laying there, I was like, 'I just screwed myself.' Of course I was screaming like a little baby, and the band was sitting there going, 'He he, get up, c'mon!' They cut my pants off and everybody's like (shivering noise), 'cause the leg's was all (twisting noise). It was crazy."

As a result of Furstenfeld's injury, Blue October had to postpone its show in Grand Rapids on November 7th, along with Toronto on the 9th, Quebec on the 11th and Boston on the 12th. The dates will be rescheduled.

Blue October has been touring in support of its fourth studio album, Foiled, which features the singles "Hate Me" and "Into The Ocean."
