"Bronx Tale" star might direct next Godsmack video

Godsmack plans to shoot a video for its new single, "The Enemy," and might enlist veteran actor Chazz Palminteri to direct it. Godsmack singer Sully Erna told us how he got the star of The Usual Suspects and A Bronx Tale to consider making his debut as a music video director: "I was introduced to Chazz through Monte Lippman, who's the president of Universal Records, our record label, and we just hit it off, man, you know. We played cards and hung out and he's just a really super, super nice guy. And anyways, I sent him the song and he loved it. He loves music and he loves the band and, you know, me and him became good friends and he just decided that he wants to do a really kick-ass music video."

Palminteri's other acting credits include Bullets Over Broadway, Analyze This and the upcoming The Good Shepherd.

He wrote and starred in the original one-man play that A Bronx Tale was based on. The movie version was Robert De Niro's debut as a director.

"The Enemy" follows "Speak" and "Shine Down" as the third single from Godsmack's latest album, IV.

Godsmack is currently on a headlining North American trek with Breaking Benjamin along as support. The bands play on Friday, November 3rd, in Madison, Wisconsin.
