David Bowie & Phil Collins bringing in high bids for anti-landmine auction
David Bowie and Phil Collins have so far brought in the highest bids in an anti-landmine auction that's going on now. They've each donated a signed pair of footwear from their personal collections, with Bowie's white fashion boots already over $900 and Collins' black-and-white Puma trainer boots topping $500. Other musicians taking part in the Give Landmines The Boot auction include Ringo Starr, Bill Wyman, and Brian May from Queen, along with actresses Susan Sarandon, Pam Anderson, and Gillian Anderson from The X-Files, among many others.
The auction runs through December 8th, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), which works to clear minefields and destroy small arms and light weapons around the world. To make a bid, go to eBay and do a seller's search for givelandminestheboot.
