Deftones album squeaks into Top 10
The fifth Deftones album, Saturday Night Wrist, debuted at Number 10 on this week's Billboard Top 200 album chart on Wednesday, November 8th, selling 76,000 copies in its first week of release. The band's previous outing, a self-titled effort released in 2003, debuted at Number Three. Saturday Night Wrist took over two years to make and was such a difficult project that it nearly broke up the 15-year-old band.
Deftones will also be featured on the Family Values Tour 2006 CD and DVD, which are both due out on December 26th.
Deftones are on a headlining U.S. tour and begin a two-night stand in Hollywood, California on Thursday, November 9th.
Last week's big rock debut on the chart, My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade, slipped from Number Two to Number Six this week, with sales taking a 64 percent drop to 86,000 copies.
