Did Guns N' Roses cancel show over low ticket sales?
Guns N' Roses said they cancelled their show in Portland, Maine on Monday (November 6th) because they were being harassed by the local fire marshals. But a local TV station might have revealed a different reason -- low ticket sales. According to WGME in Portland, the Cumberland County Civic Center holds 6,500 people, but only 3,000 tickets were sold for the concert. GNR management has not commented on the report. The next stop for the band was planned for Wednesday, November 8th at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.A reporter from the TV station spoke to Papa Roach singer Jacoby Shaddix and drummer Dave Buckner at the venue. They said people should expect this kind of stuff from Guns N' Roses, and that Papa Roach would make it up to fans: (Shaddix) "I guess it's kind of par for the course for being on a Guns N' Roses tour." (Buckner) "So all we can say is , you know, to our fans out here in Portland, you know, we'll be back as soon as we can with our own headliner tour. And, you know, we promise when it's our show, we're gonna play."
