Eddie's son said to be bassist in Van Halen

According to a published report, Van Halen has found a new bass player. TMZ.com says that Wolfgang Van Halen, the 15-year-old son of Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli, has been tapped by his father and uncle Alex to handle the bottom end, replacing original member Michael Anthony. A spokesperson for the group told the website that "Wolfie" has already been rehearsing with Eddie and Alex to get ready for a tour next summer, which is rumored to have David Lee Roth back with the group. There's been no official indication from Van Halen regarding the bass player position in the lineup.

Wolfie made frequent onstage appearances during Van Halen's 2004 tour with Sammy Hagar.

During an appearance on Howard Stern's satellite radio show back in September, Eddie Van Halen revealed that he was open to a reunion with Roth, that his son would be Anthony's replacement, and that Wolfie also played guitar and drums.
