Eric Clapton says he is not the guitarist he once was

Eric Clapton thinks his guitar skills have diminished over the years. In an interview on CBS Sunday Morning this Sunday (November 12th), Clapton said he's not able to play like he did even 10 years ago: "I got a, a piece of footage from the mid-'90s of me when I was just playing a blues song, and I thought, 'Whoa.' There were some things that I was doing that I just don't even think I -- (I) consciously let go of. I don't do 'em anymore -- probably because they're too hard to do."

Even if he's lost a step or two, Eric knows he's still a pretty good guitarist. He said, "I believe I can still play with the same amount of emotion, and feeling, and expression that I've always set out to do."

Clapton just started a run of dates in Japan that will keep him busy until December 9th.

He recently released an album called The Road To Escondido with old friend and songwriter J.J. Cale, the man behind Clapton hits "After Midnight" and "Cocaine."
