Eric Clapton working out dates with J.J. Cale
Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale just released an album called The Road To Escondido, and they've been talking about doing some shows together. While nothing has been confirmed yet, it looks like the plan is for Cale to join up with Clapton and his band when they return for some West Coast dates early in 2007. So far, the only rumored date is a late February-early march stop in the San Diego area, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.The guitar legend is in the midst of a Japanese tour that runs through December 9th, after which he'll go home to spend the holidays with his family.
Cale wrote two of Clapton's best-known songs -- "After Midnight," from the self-titled solo debut in 1970, and "Cocaine," from the 1977 album Slowhand. He's also the man behind Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Call Me The Breeze."
