Garbage vocalist enlists Jack White and Billy Corgan for solo album
Garbage vocalist Shirley Manson has enlisted White Stripes and Raconteurs singer/guitarist Jack White, along with Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan, to collaborate on songs for her first solo album, according to AOL Music. There's no details on whether White and Corgan will just be writing with Manson or appearing on the record. There is also no set release date or title for the disc, although it is expected to arrive sometime in 2007
Manson has also reached out to Paul Buchanan of Blue Nile to collaborate on music. She told Billboard last spring that she had completed a song with composer David Arnold, with whom she worked on the title theme to the 1999 James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough.
Garbage went on an "indefinite" hiatus about a year ago, after completing a world tour in support of its fourth album, Bleed Like Me.
Drummer Butch Vig is producing the new album from Jimmy Eat World.
