The Killers performing at Billboard Music Awards
The Killers are among the first acts confirmed to perform at the 2006 Billboard Music Awards, which will air live on Fox from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 4th. Also scheduled to perform are Fergie and Janet Jackson, with American Idol runners-up Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee, Chris Brown and Rihanna making appearances as well. According to Billboard, nominees, additional performers and the show's host will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Billboard awards honor the most popular records and artists of the year based on their performances on the trade magazine's weekly charts.
Green Day led the pack at the 2005 event with six wins.
The Killers just completed their first North American tour in support of the group's newly-released second album, Sam's Town. A European trek starts on Friday, November 3rd, in Hamburg, Germany.
