Korn leader lands second lead role in horror film

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has landed the title role in yet another horror movie, according to Fangoria.com. The movie, called Job , follows a religious serial killer and was co-written and directed by John Gray. The relatively unknown filmmaker said about hiring Davis, "Casting Jonathan might not appear to be the obvious choice, but when you see him in action, you'll completely understand why. He is going to bring such a level of talent to it that might just surprise everyone."

This is Davis' second major role in a horror film, following the yet-to-be-released Sin-Jin Smyth. While the singer has a lot of control over his recording projects, he told us he has no problem taking direction when making a movie: "That's the cool thing about being an actor, you're acting so you've got to do what's in the director's head and try and get across what he's feeling. You guys collaborate together, but I'm down to do whatever. Once they're paying me to do that and act, I'm trying to get across what they want."

Job, which also features Devil's Rejects star Bill Moseley, begins shooting this December in Texas. There's no word yet on whether the independent production will be released theatrically or straight to DVD.

Korn is currently writing music for its eighth studio album. Live tracks from the band will appear on the 2006 Family Values CD and DVD due out at the end of next month.
