Marilyn Manson nearly finished with new album
Marilyn Manson may have seemingly pushed music onto a back burner in favor of art and film projects, but he recently revealed that he's close to completing a new album. The shock-rocker told Rolling Stone that opening his own art gallery inspired him to make a new CD, adding, "We're about two songs away from a finished album that we didn't even have a few months ago. It sounds rather pretentious sometimes, but it's easier for me to just call myself an artist -- if I decide to do music or if I decide to do a film, it works. I just want to uphold a level of integrity."
There's no indication of when Manson's next album will be released.
Manson opened his gallery, called the Celebritarian Corporation Gallery of Fine Art, in Los Angeles on October 31st. The gallery launched with a showing of Manson's own paintings, which have been displayed previously in the U.S. and Europe.
Manson is scheduled to begin shooting his first feature film as a director, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, in which he also stars as Alice In Wonderland author Lewis Carroll.
He is also releasing his own line of absinthe, which he hopes to have in stores by Christmas.
