Michael Anthony announces non Van Halen plans

There's been some question as to whether bassist Michael Anthony is on board for the rumored Van Halen reunion tour next year, and he's not doing anything to clear up the confusion. Anthony has posted a long message on his Mad Anthony blog about some recent shows with Sammy Hagar, his appearance last week with the Van Halen tribute band the Atomic Punks, and how he's set for a New Year's Eve (December 31st) gig with Hagar at Hagar's Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. However, there was no indication about what, if any, involvement he'll have with David Lee Roth and Eddie and Alex Van Halen, who are said to be looking at a run of shows in 2007.

Eddie Van Halen has said harsh things about Anthony. The issue has never been explained, but it might stem from Anthony's continued involvement with Hagar, whom Eddie also dislikes.

Van Halen is one of the nominees for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's Class of 2007.
