New Saliva album coming sooner than expected

Although it was initially slated for release in February, Saliva's new album will now come out on January 23rd, according to Tunelab Music. The band's fourth major label offering, Blood Stained Love Story, features the single "Ladies And Gentlemen," which is showing up on rock radio stations now. As for the CD's title, singer Josey Scott told us it sums up everything that the album is about: "It's very romantic and very optimistic, and sort of redemptive, and it's got dark places in it too. You know, it deals with death and romance and God and violence and injustice and all the good, rebellious rock 'n' roll things."

Saliva played some scattered dates last month, but will begin another round of U.S. shows on November 16th in Rockford, Illinois.

Blood Stained Love Story follows up Saliva's 2004 effort, Survival of the Sickest.

The band recently recruited former Full Devil Jacket guitarist Jon Montoya as a replacement for Chris D'Abaldo, who left the lineup in early 2005.

Saliva recently had to postpone some live shows to allow Josey Scott more time to recuperate from an August car accident. The band was riding in a vehicle that was sideswiped, causing serious injuries to Scott's neck and back. He is still being treated for the injuries.
