Pink Floyd paintings fetch thousands

Ten paintings by Pink Floyd founding member Syd Barrett have raised more than $100,000 at auction. Barrett died of cancer aged 60 in July, nearly 40 years after turning his back on his crowds of fans.

The paintings were among the contents of Syd's home in Cambridge, England.

A cream leather armchair with a stain on the headrest fetched $2,000. And the former rock star's artificial Christmas tree sold for $1,500.

Auctioneers "Cheffins" sold 77 items in total taken from Syd's home.

Some of the sale profits will be donated to a fund to help budding artists.
