Rolling Stones & Beatles members donate footware to anti-landmine auction
Members of the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Lovin' Spoonful are taking part in an anti-landmine auction that's going on now. Ringo Starr, Bill Wyman, and John Sebastian have all donated to the Give Landmines The Boot auction, which also features footwear from Anne Murray, Andy Williams, Susan Sarandon, and Pam Anderson, among many others. The auction runs through December 8th, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Mines Advisory Group (MAG), which works to clear minefields and destroy small arms and light weapons around the world. To make a bid, go to eBay and do a seller's search for givelandminestheboot.
The leading item so far is a pair of white boots worn and signed by David Bowie, which are already getting bids over $900.
