Saliva extends tour as singer recalls car accident

Saliva has extended its current U.S. tour with a batch of new December dates, according to LiveDaily.com. The Memphis-based band is promoting the upcoming release of its fourth major label album, Blood Stained Love Story, which arrives on January 23rd. The start of the band's tour was delayed last month to allow singer Josey Scott more time to recover from an August car accident. Scott, who was in a van that was hit by a car going 65 miles an hour, told us that he initially thought he was badly injured: "It was like the hardest I've ever been hit in my life. It felt like a bomb went off. It knocked me completely out, cold, gone. My wife was screaming -- she was in the car behind us. I remember waking up in my wife's arms, and the EMTs pulling me out, and she was freaking, so I started freaking. They had to cut me out of the car."

Luckily, Scott escaped from the accident with a few small fractures, but had to go through six weeks of physical therapy.

Saliva began its latest round of U.S. shows on November 16th and plays on Tuesday, November 21st, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Blood Stained Love Story follows up Saliva's 2004 effort, Survival of the Sickest and features the single "Ladies and Gentlemen."
