Taking Back Sunday prepping first DVD, holiday charity card
Taking Back Sunday will release its first DVD, titled Louder Now: Part One, on December 12th, according to Punknews.org. The disc will feature 90 minutes of interviews and anecdotes from all five members of the band, backstage and onstage scenes from a show at the Long Beach Arena in California, plus behind-the-scenes footage shot on the tour bus, in the studio, in hotel rooms and even at some of the band members' homes. Also included are videos for both of Louder Now's singles, "MakeDamnSure" and "Liar (It Takes One To Know One)."
In other news, Taking Back Sunday has created a holiday greeting card to raise money for cancer charities. The card was conceived by singer Adam Lazzara and comes with a personalized greeting from the group. The cards, which come in a limited run, are available in packs of five for $15 and 10 for $25, and can be ordered through the band's web site or MerchDirect.com.
Proceeds from the sales of the cards will go to the American Cancer Society, Give Kids The World Village and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The charities were personally selected by drummer Mark O'Connell's mother Roberta and bassist Matt Rubano's mother Hinda, both cancer survivors, as well as guitarist Eddie Reyes' brother, whose daughter Elizabeth succumbed to cancer at a very young age.
Louder Now has sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S. since its release last April.
Taking Back Sunday is currently headlining the European version of the Taste Of Chaos tour, which wraps up on Tuesday, November 21st, in Cardiff, Wales. The band will play some Stateside radio festivals in December.
