Vegas not a factor in Panic! At The Disco's live show

Panic! At The Disco's current headlining tour features an elaborate circus-themed set, dancers and acrobats, and the band itself dressed up in elaborate costumes. Although the group is based in Las Vegas, singer Brendan Urie told us he's not sure how much influence the city's legendary stage productions had on Panic!'s own live show: "Well, honestly, none of us when we were growing up really went to any shows. Vegas is known for very big productions and I guess we took very minor influence from that, where every show that you see is big lights, bright lights, big things happening, a lot of, you know, action going on. So yeah, I mean, it's a very similar kind of thing."

Panic! At The Disco plays the second of two gigs tonight (Tuesday, November 14th) at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Opening act Bloc Party has been forced to drop off the Panic! tour following drummer Matt Tong's hospitalization for a collapsed lung last week. Doctors have told Tong he'll need a few weeks for the lung to properly heal. The British band said in a statement, "We would like to apologize to all of our fans here who won't be able to see us on this tour."

The Plain White T's joined the trek last night (Monday, November 13th) and will be on board until the 27th, with Cobra Starship taking over from November 28th to December 9th.

Panic! At The Disco will begin work in January on the follow-up to its debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, which has sold 1.3 million copies.
