30 Seconds To Mars singer calls extended album a thnk you to fans

30 Seconds To Mars re-releases its sophomore album, A Beautiful Lie, on December 5th, in a special deluxe edition. The new double-disc set contains the original album plus one bonus track, "The Kill (Rebirth)," on the first disc, while the second platter is a DVD featuring music videos, "making-of" segments, interviews and footage from various MTV and MTV2 appearances. Frontman Jared Leto told us that the new version also includes one more special feature: "This CD/DVD special edition is really a thank-you to the fans and family, the believers out there. It includes the name of, you know, over 5,000 people who have been passionate about 30 Seconds To Mars. It includes their names in the artwork. There's a giant thank-you in this fold-out artwork."

The new 30 Seconds To Mars video, for the single "From Yesterday," is reportedly the first American rock video ever shot completely in the People's Republic of China.

The finished clip, which is also available as a 13-minute "mini-movie," used more than 300 extras and was inspired by Chinese history and martial arts.

30 Seconds To Mars will co-headline this winter's Taste of Chaos tour with the Used. The trek begins on February 15th in Seattle.
